The Commissioning Process
at a glance
1. Choose Your Options & Place Order
Choose your desired portrait type from the options and place your order, or enter the enquiry form. I will then request your reference photos via email. The more you can send the better! View my photo guide for tips on taking the best reference photos for your portrait.
Requested date slots will be taken into consideration and can often be met - if strict date deadline is required that cannot be met, refund will be issued.
2. Mockups
I'll then make rough digital mock-up designs from your photos, so you can choose your favourite background/ composition before I begin the artwork.
We work closely at this stage and you can request any changes to the design's composition or background to ensure you are over the moon with your final artwork.
3. Leave it With Me
I'll get to work drawing your artwork ready for your chosen/ allocated date. Once completed, you will receive a watermarked scan of the final piece to confirm. The portrait will then either be mounted or framed by my professional framer as per your request, and be on it's way home to you in the post!

Professional Framing
The presentation of your portrait to ensure it's longevity is something I take seriously. I work closely with my professional framer to showcase your portrait using the finest museum-grade glass which protects against UV rays and provides an excellent viewing experience, it's almost invisible!
There are a huge array of different colours & styles of frame to choose from to best suit your home.
Engraved name plaques are also available in gold & silver which make a great addition for those looking for 'the whole package'.
Graphite or Colour?
I pride myself in taking my time over countless hours to capture the smallest details of your companion animal, whether in graphite or colour. This is what makes my work stand out over other portrait artists. I began drawing pets in graphite at a very young age, inspired by my love of animals.
Graphite portraits give a lovely nostalgic look, whereas coloured pencil portraits can capture the vibrancy and unique colours of your pet. Either choice is a beautiful way to tribute the most important animals in your life.
